James A. Griesemer, D.P.S.
Associate Professor of Business

Biography

Prior to joining the faculty of Mount Saint Mary College Professor Griesemer worked for twenty-three years for International Paper Company in their Technology Division where he was a Principal Scientist responsible for developing new paper-based packaging and packaging manufacturing systems.

At MSMC he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Production and Operations Management, Total Quality Management, Management Information Systems, Managerial Economics, and Electronic Commerce. His research interests include the use of mathematics and models for business decision making, quality management including ISO 9000, and electronic commerce and its impact on the Mid-Hudson Valley area.

Professor Griesemer earned his Doctorate in Management from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University in New York City where he was awarded the Doctor of Professional Studies Program Award for having achieved the highest academic average and defense of a dissertation judged to be the highest quality in both academic rigor and practical application. He also has a MBA in Financial Management, MS in Material Science and a BS in Engineering. He is also an active member in several professional societies including the Institute of Supply Management, the Institute for Operations and Management Sciences, the American Production and Inventory Control Society and the American Society of Quality.
