Prior to joining the faculty of Mount Saint Mary College, Professor Rant was a full-time Assistant Professor of Business Law at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, as well as a practicing attorney in New Windsor, New York, maintaining a general law practice with an emphasis in the areas of real estate law, wills, trusts and estates, and business law.
Professor Rant teaches undergraduate and graduate business courses, including Introduction to Management, Entrepreneurship, Industrial Relations, Seminar in Management, and Business & Government Relations. He has taught Business Law, The Legal Environment of Business, and Introduction to Business, as well.
Professor Rant earned his Bachelor of Science in Earth and Space Sciences at SUNY Stony Brook and his Juris Doctorate at New York Law School. He was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1979. Professor Rant is the legal advisor to several charitable organizations in the Orange County area and has a special interest in medical product and device claims substantiation and testing.
