CIT 205 Microcomputer Applications III Syllabus

 


 

Course Description:

This course teaches the student how to use presentation software, capture and edit both digital photos and video, set up a website, and use software for desktop publishing.  It is offered using step by step text books, some online lectures in outline format, and online quizzes.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 Complete, Microsoft FrontPage 2003 Complete, Microsoft Publisher 2003 Complete, Shelly Cashman, Course Technology and many handouts

Access to WebCT:

WebCT can be accessed on campus by clicking on Distance Learning from the MSMC bulletin page or from off campus by entering http://course.msmc.edu.

 

 

Student Outcomes:

At the conclusion of this course, the student will be familiar with
1.  the PowerPoint Presentation Graphics using sound & video
2.  creating an information Web Site using HTML & FrontPage and

3.  desktop publishing using Publisher.

4.   image capture, adjustment, and restoration using Adobe Photoshop Elements

5.   video capture using Adobe Premiere Elements

Procedures to Attain Student Outcomes:

Classroom lectures and lab demonstrations will be the main media.  The student will be assigned numerous exercises and projects, a published website, and at least one presentation.  There will be online quizzes and two tests.

 

 

Grading:

Your grade will be determined by the ratio of the total number of points that you earn divided by the total points possible.
Points will be earned approximately by:

Attendance:  Punctuality and attendance throughout the entire class is required.   Only with documented substantial reason will an exam be rescheduled for make-up.

Homework:  Assignments will be collected or sent to me via email.  Late assignments will receive only partial credit.  Individual work is expected; all individuals involved in copied work receive zero for the assignment.
