Cellular Biology

Cellular biology is a course whose focus is the basic unit of life. Every organism consists of one or more cells. In this course we examine cell structure and relate structure to function. To appreciate how far modern cell biology has come we consider its beginings as cytology and learn how biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology have contributed to its evolution. We study various techniques and methods used to reveal the cell's secrets and consider some of the critical scientific evidence used to formuate the central concepts of this discipline.
